Understand this, I live in Iowa. I caucused for Bernie because of his 50 state strategy suggestion, and I see that as good for the party. I am for Hillary and considered her, as it seems Bernie and his supporters bash Obama, and that turns me off.
Bernie only won me with his 50 state strategy and so far it does not seem enough. Maybe there are other things that hamper the numbers, but in 2008, more people caucused in Iowa for the democrats then this year. In 2008 more people voted for the democrats in New Hampshire, then this year.
Maybe, I and many like me who were torn between Hillary and Bernie but eventually went with Bernie made a mistake. I think so sometimes, especially when I come here and see all the Hillary and Obama bashing, and if it continues, for those that read this who support Hillary, share this with your friends and family and tell them to not make the same mistake and stand with Hillary.
I would feel better if more people had turned out in Iowa and New Hampshire, and if the recent past is prologue, Bernie won’t break a record turn out set in 2008 in any state this year, but will fall short.
For those supporting and volunteering for Bernie, you need to do what Obama did in 2008, register new voters and get those voters to turn out, as well as turn out voters who voted in 2008 for Obama and those who voted in 2012 for Obama.
Yes, Bernie can raise tons of money off the web from a large pool of supporters giving small donations, but you know who else did that? Obama in 2008 and his was more impressive. Yes, Bernie is getting a high percentage of young voters, but you know who else did that? Obama and that was the year more people turned out compared to this year.
It seems Bernie and his supporters want to say “See, we are just like Obama, join our cause” and I said yes. Don’t make me regret it, register new voters, break the Obama records.s
Otherwise you prove Bernie is just Obama-lite and there are plenty of others who can also claim to be Obama-lite and are nothing like Obama.
Fro those torn, I urge you to support Hillary, as Bernie needs to do more to earn your vote and Hillary has Obama’s back. For those of you bashing Hillary and supporting Bernie, I suggest you get out and help Bernie register new voters and get those who supported Obama in 2008 and 2012 to get back into the process so the Obama record turn out can be broken. Don’t waste your time on the internet bashing Hillary and Obama, but create the 50 state strategy Bernie is talking about.
